Royal flush for King David13th May 05
A home is a man’s castle and a toilet is his throne and now, just like a king, an average Australian householder can enjoy a separate throne of his own.
This new symbolic throne for the home is the innovative and affordable Uridan water-free urinal from Watersave Australia.
The first customers in Australia to buy these urinals for their homes say they are a royal treat.
Watersave envisages a future in which its regal brand of urinal is installed in millions of homes throughout Australia.
Hundreds of Uridan urinals have been installed already in business and public buildings around Australia.
Architect Martyn Shedd of the Gold Coast in Queensland is the first customer in Australia to have one of these urinals installed in a house, although this urinal is shared not only by his two sons but also by employees of his home business.
The first customer in Australia to have one of the urinals installed in his house exclusively for the use of his family is Dave Davies of Newcastle in New South Wales.
Dave compares a man having a urinal to a woman having a bidet, as a queen has her own throne, but he remarks that to him a urinal seems far more useful than a bidet.
He says he and his three sons do make plenty of use of their new urinal.
Both the Shedd and the Davies families say their urinals are a wonderful topic of conversation when friends, neighbours and relatives visit.
Watersave, the exclusive distributor of the urinals in Australia and New Zealand, says it is the innovative design of the urinals which makes them convenient and affordable to home owners.
The urinals are designed to work without a cistern - without having to be flushed. So they save on plumbing and water costs, and that is a royal flush for any home owner!
Yet the distributor says the water-free urinals are hygienic and odourless.
Each Uridan urinal has a waste trap sealed with a floating layer of vegetable oil. Urine drains under a stainless steel cover, through the layer of oil in the trap and away into the waste pipe.
