Protection from harmful bacteria is important for any bathroom, food prepartion area or plant room. The bacteria and microbes that grow in the drain system are the primary cause of bad odours and if left untreated can be the cause of illness and disease.

Recognising this problem Watersave has developed a suite of unique antimicrobial products that are designed to provide 24-hour protection from harmful, odour causing bacteria.

Our products are manufactured with a special blend of silver called Ultra-Fresh which control the growth of bacteria.

Manufactured and marketed internationally by Thomson Research Associates (TRA) of Toronto, Canada, the Ultra-Fresh range of antimicrobials is used in products ranging from woven and non-woven textiles to diverse polymer, plastic and rubber based systems.

The first product manufactured with Ultra-Fresh is the industry award winning DrainFresh.

The patented DrainFresh system is a new generation floor waste that provides 24 hour hygienic protection against toxic odours, harmful bacteria and pests entering a building via the floor waste and drains below.

DrainFresh is an Australian designed and manufactured product and is certified for use under the Standards Australia Watermark scheme. DrainFresh is available exclusively from Reece.

Drainfresh was awarded Innovative Product of the Year by the GreenPlumbers, Master Plumbers and Mechanical Services Association of Australia (MPMSAA) in 2009.

The body of the DrainFresh contains an innovative water seal and is plastic body is infused Ultra-Fresh antimicrobial protection. Odour causing bacteria that are present in the sewer system can not pass through the DrainFresh water seal, thus ensuring the room above is kept free from contamination. Any bacteria that come in contact with the DrainFresh body are killed by the Ultra-Fresh.

The air admittance valve (AAV) ensures that the water seal will remain in place despite any pressure differential in the sewer system below. No other product of its kind has this feature.
