The Watersave Smart Meter System delivers water usage monitoring on-line, in real time so that abnormal usage and leaks can be quickly identified and rectified. The solution is designed to create significant water and operational cost savings, reduce CO2 emissions, and increase the Environmental Rating of any building in which it is installed.

The Watersave Smart Meter System is designed and developed in Australia and is widely used by commercial organisations, water retailers, local councils, schools, universities, clubs, hotels, airports, sporting arenas, camping grounds and golf courses. Any pulse capable water meter can be connected to the system and monitored, including mag-flow, electro-mechanical and mechancial pulse meters.
The system includes a distributed data collection system and a secure hosted web site.
The distributed data collection system consists of 2 components:
- Solar or Lithium powered RF transmitter / receiver attached the to water meter
- As this device is solar powered it will not require replacement batteries. The solar cell provides more than enough power to recharge the battery and keep the system live even on cloudy days.
- Pulses registered by the water meter are transmitted via an encypted signal to the Receiver unit
- Mains powered intelligent RF receiver unit which uploads the data to the secure website via GPRS or direct Internet connection
- The receiver can be located several hundred metres away from the transmitter in a nearby building
- Pulses logged by the Receiver are uploaded to the web site every 2 minutes through numerous user defiined time periods up to a maximum of 7 days
